In short, yes! Pergolas are open air structures, but it’s understandable to want to enjoy your outdoor space even during inclement weather. For example, we’ve used poly-carbonate, solar panels and louvered roof systems to accomplish this. All three solutions can help keep you dry under your structure, but we still suggest heading indoors and away from high-winds and heavy rain as we often experience in the Northeastern United States.
What color options do you have for your pergolas?
While our standard color options are white, black, gray and bronze, the entire Sherman Williams color wheel is truly at your disposal. An important point to remember is that although custom colors are available, materials ordered in non-standard colors may cost more or incur additional wait times on delivery.
Can I put lights on my pergola?
The party doesn’t stop just because the sun goes down. Lighting for your pergola can be done a couple different ways; the most common would be to recess lighting within beams which offers a very clean look. Mounting light fixtures to the outside of the beam, or hanging lights yourself once your structure is finished are also more cost effective solutions!
Does having a pergola add value to your home?
Today, the idea of a “backyard oasis” is more common then ever before and pergolas are often a centerpiece to these spaces. Pergolas grant you the ability to more comfortably enjoy your outdoor space for longer. They help cool spaces on brutal summer days and through the incorporation of a louvered roof system, can even allow you to use your space in the rain. This holds substantial value to potential home buyers who like spending time outdoors or who enjoy entertaining guests.
