The Modern was a two part project designed by Melilo and Bauer Landscape Architects and took a total of three years before construction was totally completed. The holds a plethora of diverse areas including playground equipment and exercise areas, a pool, multi-bay outdoor barbeques, general lounge seating and a whole lot more. This required the landscape architect to incorporate a sufficient amount of shade applications to ensure a comfortable experience for residence and guests among the sister buildings. Which both sit side by side along the Hudson River in Fort Lee, NJ. The project required a modern solution to fit an increasingly popular area. It tested our companies strategic planning to successfully coordinate such a bulk pergola requirement over a large span of time. Ultimately the project featured 14 individual shade structures in two main styles: pergolas with stretched fabric and pergolas with a cantilever design.
