Stretched Fabric

Stretched fabric between beams is one of the most common applications to a structure. It’s an effective way to shade a large area and can help reduce the overall cost of a structure. Made with the intention of commercial use, this extra strength fabric can withstand high winds and its porous design allows rain to pass through without accruing much weight. With that being the case, fabrics do require some maintenance. They should be removed in the winter to avoid heavy snow loads that can pull or damage the structure. Fabrics should also be cleaned as often as once a year to avoid mildew buildable or an undesired look. Overall stretched fabrics are a great way shade an area, can be made in a wide range of color options and can ultimately help reduce costs when shading a large area!

Lighting, TV’s, Color Options & More

Most often, pergolas are built to increase comfort in entertainment & leisure areas. The usual goal is to achieve shade but they quickly become the centerpiece to your outdoor space. Our pergola design, as well as the quality of the materials, was carefully chosen with the intention to incorporate mounted and recessed lights, speakers, TV’s, heaters, fans, etc., while housing all wiring hidden within the beam. We will work with you on choosing the beams appropriate to accommodate the weights and sizes of your outdoor equipment and furniture. The beams come standard in four colors; black, gray, white & bronze. A wider range of color options is available, ask a representative about color availability & pricing!

Water Features

In the spirit of cooling off, several of our pergolas standing today are packed with water components. Mister systems, shower heads and water curtains are super effective ways to cool down an area and our hollow beam design allows you to put them anywhere. As shown, this design rests three shower heads within a single beam without the unsightly view of piping. In this case the shower heads are rinsing off poolside users, as well as feeding the lateral plant wall. Adding water elements are great for amusement parks or any high traffic area exposed to intense sun all day.

Solar

As the world continues to transition into building more environmentally conscious, the implementation of solar panels on our structures is a no brainer. Not only can solar panels act as a waterproof roofing material, but serves the dual purpose of both blocking sunlight and collecting that sunlight for energy later. This can be especially useful when incorporating lights, fans, outlets, etc. into your structure that all need power!

For your consideration…

In the past, there have been tax rebates on structures featuring solar panels. State websites should provide any information for tax rebate opportunities in your area.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is a great but simple way to protect the space beneath your structure from rain. It’s translucent and light weight and can significantly lower temperatures beneath your pergola. These pergolas are often slightly pitched to avoid rain buildup in undesired spaces.
